Frequently Asked Question & an Interview From Owner:
Evan St. James

How do I get the Best for Less from For Weddings Only?  First of all, let me say that
For Weddings Only has performed over 3,000 successful weddings.  The magic is in the
owner of the business Evan St. James...taking every wedding at almost any budget.  As he is
not only the owner but performs 99% of all his weddings. No middle man, so no extra boost
in prices.  He only books his calendar year and does not book more than one wedding a day!

Entertainment FAQ
Q: In your opinion, what is the most important service in a wedding.
A: Without a doubt, the DJ, and I'm not saying that because I'm a DJ, I'm also a
photographer and videographer and have even dabbled in food services.  It is a proven fact.
There was a poll taken asking thousands of brides what do you remember most about your
wedding.  Number 1 answer was "The DJ" When asked why, the two most common
answers were:
1. He was great everyone had the best time
2. He ruined my wedding, he didn't have a clue what he was doing. (Due to Inexperience.
Typically a 300 to 400 dollar DJ)

To be honest...every service is most important all the way down to the print shop making
the invitations.  A wedding is a one time deal.  No seconds or retakes.  The DJ is the one
who makes or breaks a wedding.  A DJ must be able to take control and have the experience
to deal with all the details of a wedding and to be able to handle all situations, plus entertain
the crowd.

It is important to really interview all of your services very thoroughly.  If you are working
strictly for the best price, you really fighting a hard battle.  An average wedding these days
cost around $6,000 to $25,000 and Up  It is important to understand that when hiring a
professional wedding service the average cost for a photographer, video and DJ rates start
around $900 and you could spend up to $2500.00 for each service.  Our services are geared
to fit everyone's budget.  For Weddings Only does not believe in "Price Gouging"

Q: Why are you different from other companies?
A:  We claim to have more experience with weddings than anyone else.  It takes a talented
person to DJ, Entertain or take photos.  Though it takes special talent and experience to
master a wedding.  We claim to be the best wedding entertainers in the business.  We have
spent 28 plus years perfecting the art of Weddings for Audio and Visual services.

Q: Why is it that some DJ's are charging only 300 - 400 dollars.
A:  If there is any advice I can give to any bride, groom or Mother, DO NOT, I REPEAT,
DO NOT find a DJ for that amount.  Chances are they have not even performed a wedding.
A wedding is the most important day of a bride's life.  Weddings need to have a special DJ
or entertainer to perform.  It takes so much more experience and knowledge and a certain
professionalism that is very hard to find in most DJ's or entertainers.  Remember the DJ is
the most important person at your wedding, it is the difference between a great wedding, a
memorable wedding or God forbid a disaster wedding.  The DJ sets the pace of a wedding,
also makes the wedding flow and continuous fun.  If a DJ is really good, they will run the
show and make sure everyone is in their place in every instance throughout the reception.
Most of all, your guests should have the best time.

Q: Do you require a meeting?
A:  Absolutely!!  It is the only possible way to obtain all the information that is needed to
create your perfect wedding.  Every wedding is different.  Every bride and groom have
different ideas on what and how they would like their wedding.  Most brides and grooms
have lots of questions and we definitely have the answers. One reason we have become the
wedding experts is the fact that we care about your wedding day and to provide the best
possible services getting to know as much as we can about you helps us create your perfect
wedding.

Q: My fiancé and I are just starting to plan our wedding and haven't a clue on what to do to
get started, can you help?
A: Definitely, no matter where you are in planning your wedding, we have several ways we
can help you.  First, with the experience we have, we can tell you about all the do's and
don'ts in planning a wedding.  With over 4,000 weddings performed, we definitely can refer
you to some great vendors. Lastly, when putting your wedding together, we provide a step
by step itinerary from beginning to end to ensure your wedding is built just the way you have
always dreamed.

An Interview With Owner Evan St. James

What are the Do's & Don'ts of the Wedding Experience:

1.  DO NOT use a family member or friend in any wedding service.  I have seen families
broken up, and friendships lost.  Please try to avoid it as much as possible.  I know
weddings are expensive, and sometimes it seems like a good idea to bring in the family or
friend, but do a little shopping around, and ask the service you're interviewing about family
and friends.
2.  Make sure you interview several services before choosing.  Each service has a specialty,
so make sure the vendor provides what you are looking for.
3.  Before you start the interviews, research weddings and how to prepare for them.  There
are several websites which give free advice.  Take the time. Take some notes, make sure to
ask lots of questions.  Make notes on how you would like to prepare your wedding before
the meeting.  Talk to other married couples, find out what they would of changed in their
wedding and find out what was great about their wedding.
4.  When going to interviews, make sure to take your fiancé or a parent, maid of honor or
friend with you.  You have to make sure that you have someone to give you suggestions and
opinions about each interview that is different from your own opinion.
5.  Study their personality closely, this is very important when choosing your entertainer or
photographer.  Make sure he or she is entertaining or has a decent personality.
Entertainment, Photography & Videos are forms of art.  Personality means a lot when it
comes to your wedding.  Be sure to relate well with that person.
7.  Always interview at least 3 businesses for each service.
8.  Remember, sometimes an extra $500 - $1,000 dollars above your expected budget might
be the difference between "The Good, The Bad & The Ugly"
9.  When it feels right, go with it.  If a person sounds like they know what they're doing and
you feel confident with that person in every way, go with those feelings.
10. Do not rush, take your time, re-interview if you need to.  Make sure you have eaten and
are comfortable before walking into a meeting.  Don't be pressured into anything.  That is
the salesman's way of getting the business which is pressuring you into using them.  Most
are very, very good at it. "Don't Do It"
